Counter Narcotics Success

The Barbados Defence Force’s maritime unit the Barbados Coast Guard (BCG), participated in a joint counter narcotics operation with the Royal Barbados Police Force and the Regional Security System .

The operation led to the interdiction of a quantity of illegal drugs (cocaine and marijuana), an illegal firearm and ammunition.

The operation was conducted approximately 8 nautical miles from Needham’s Point, St Michael. During the operation 6 males were apprehended. The BCG will continue to monitor and secure Barbados’ territorial waters in pursuit of our national security interests.
