International Women’s Day 2021 is celebrated as we navigate these uncharted times, defined by the COVID-19 pandemic. I am honoured to be a part of the Sisterhood of the Barbados Defence Force, #BDFExcellenceInService.

 

As the Force has grown, our skills, talents and unique perspectives are harnessed as we serve Barbados on land: as drivers, medics, cooks, supply and logistics operators and at sea: as engineers, navigators, ship captains and boss administrators, mothers, sisters and leaders.

 

Females comprise 10% of the Force complement and the future Force continues to advance our status, indicative of the equal opportunities afforded us.

I speak for all BDF Females, as we pledge to continue to be symbols of excellence.
