BDF FMT Increases Capabilities Through US Embassy

The Government of Barbados recently received a donation of twenty-seven (27) Pelican Cases from the Government of the United States of America, for utilization by the Barbados Defence Force Field Medical Team. Her Excellency, Linda Taglialatela, US Ambassador to Barbados and the Caribbean, made the presentation to
Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Junior Browne Director of Operations BDF FMT. The presentation ceremony was held at the BDF FMT Newton Christ Church facility.

H.E. Linda Taglialatela explained that the donation was aimed at augmenting the capabilities of the BDF FMT, while strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Lt Col Browne, on behalf of the Chief of Staff, Colonel Glyne Grannum, thanked the US Embassy for their timely donation, given the operational climate of the Force. He went on to mention that the cases will be placed into immediate use, mainly for the storage of pharmaceuticals, intended for rapid response and deployments. Lt Col Browne stated that, “this contribution will further strengthen the team’s capabilities to render medical assistance both locally and regionally.”
