The Barbados Defence Force received a donation of $200, 000.00 in stores and equipment from the Massy Foundation in aid of the further development of its Field Medical Facility (BDF FMF). The handover ceremony was held in the Officers’ Mess St Ann’s Fort, the Garrison and attended by members of the Massy Foundation and the directing staff of the BDF FMF.

Director of the Massy Foundation, Mr David Neilands during his presentation to Chief of Staff, Colonel Glyne Grannum noted that they were once again thrilled to be able to assist the BDF FMF since this relationship started in 2018. He went on to state that the Foundation was especially pleased to be associated with such organization and its purpose, given the need for response mechanisms and capabilities for this season’s severe Atlantic Weather Systems.

The BDF Field Medical Facility received its Type 1 verification in 2019 and were instrumental in the national COVID 19 response.
