UK LANCASHIRE ARMY CADET FORCE EXCHANGE CAMP

Headquarters Barbados Defence Force in its commitment to youth development, with the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence, hosted a detachment of 14 from the Lancashire Army Cadet Force over the 2-week Easter holiday.

The cadets participated in military exercises, community projects, physical challenges, safety of life at sea and an exciting 7 x 1KM road race. The camp’s schedule also included participating in cultural events highlighting Barbados’ history and its tourism value.

In an article by Mr Jack Marshall (UK) of the Lancashire Post, stated that Lancashire ACF Regimental Sergeant Major Oliver Pallister exclaimed “it was the best experience I have ever had. Not only the tasks we were given, but now I have friends in Barbados that I will keep for life.”

The reciprocal leg of the exchange camp with the Barbados Cadet Corps will be arranged in 2020.  (Read More)
